Role: AI Practice Leader

Client: State of CA Location: Sacramento, CA (Hybrid – onsite work required) Residency Requirement: Must live within 60-90 miles minimum from location

Role Overview:

As an AI Practice Leader, you will lead and manage a team focused on GenAI implementation projects. Your role will involve strategic planning, team leadership, and ensuring successful project execution. This position requires a strong background in executive leadership and a deep understanding of AI concepts and their business applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the AI practice team, providing direction and support to ensure project success.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans for AI implementation, aligning with organizational goals.
  • Use Case Identification: Oversee the identification and validation of use cases within the AI domain.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with GenAI Strategists and technical teams to ensure accurate implementation.
  • Training and Documentation: Contribute to the development of training materials and documentation for AI projects.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison and evangelist between the project team and other departments, driving value-based solution discussions.
  • Requirements Translation: Translate business and functional requirements into technical requirements for the technical team.
  • Data Analysis: Perform data analysis and predictive data modeling to support AI initiatives.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and educate team members on best practices and industry standards in AI.
  • Business Development: Contribute to business development efforts and proposal creation to expand AI practice.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in the public sector domain, with 3+ years in an executive leadership role (CIO, CTO, COO, etc.).
  • AI Projects: Proven experience in leading 3+ AI or machine learning implementation projects.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, and experienced in executive leadership.
  • Track Record: Demonstrated success in applying domain expertise to technology implementation projects to drive large-scale organizational transformation.
  • Requirements Gathering: Experience in requirements gathering and documentation.
  • Presentation Skills: Strong presentation skills to different audiences ranging from senior-level leadership to operational staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AI Expertise: Experience in GenAI or related AI technologies.
  • Leadership: Public Sector Executive Leadership Experience.
  • Certifications: Relevant industry certifications in AI or related domains.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Project Experience: Multi-domain project experience solving complex business challenges with AI.
  • Consulting: Proven consulting experience with a focus on client engagement.
